    Thanks so much for this post! Like many others, I have been at the bottom of the cliff and it is never a fun place to be. At the time it DOES really feel like the end of the world and I appreciate you being honest about this rather than glossing over it as we often do. Perfect timing to stop and re-focus on the WHY and plan strategies to keep ourselves safe and well for the school year.

      Many thanks for taking the time to comment on the post. I wrote this mid 2017 and yet re-reading last week, I found it useful to reflect on the tough times, to see how far things had moved forward. Often we are so driven to move forward (either collaboratively or individually), that we forget to ‘go back to move forwards.’

    Well written James. I certainly find my own children have far less resilience than I did at their age – however they can verbalise their feelings far better than I could (possibly as I learnt to ‘stuff my feelings down inside and suck it up’ as a child) which is a positive.
