    A very thought provoking article with enticing references to follow up on! I like Step One of Fullan's change model, as an alternative to Kotter's 'Urgency' focus as I believe the urgency motivator has its limitations.

    Re your Principal friend, I always remember asking my lovely dad what was the first thing he did when starting a new Principalship. His reply of "nothing" at first bamboozled me, but I came to understand just how important and ultimately powerful that "nothing" was.

    While the complexities of effective leadership certainly remain as challenging as ever, I do believe in the power of a clear and strong vision / visionary to facilitate change for all involved.
